Re: problems with drivers, direct x or something..
Holy shit! It actually works! 10 loads of my bf mod under virtualbox... no crashes. although bf totally chocked & froze when running a 64player game w/ bots, but i can still test my mod without it crashing 60% of the time.

Re: problems with drivers, direct x or something..
I just installed VirtualBox. Didn't know this program existed. It looks very similar to VMWARE Player. Installing xp pro & bf right now. This will be awesome if this works for me! edit: Well... bf & all the mods installed fine... but i get a ctd when loading game. I think this is the problem...

Re: Possible to have an articulated vehicle?
I was working on some stuff with skeletons & remembered this post. Could you use a skeleton like how the soldiers hands stick to a steering wheel? Just a quick thought.

Re: problems with drivers, direct x or something..
i did have vmware player 3.1 running on win 7 64bit. i had windows xp pro running & everything ran really smooth. never tried bf though. i have learned to deal with bf crashing 40% of the time. to me its just not worth it to having multiple os's. takes up too much hard drive space.

Re: problems with drivers, direct x or something..
instead of re-loading win7 & dual booting... try vmware player or microsoft's windows xp vm. vmware is free & run's just about any os out there. microsoft's windows xp virtual machine im pretty sure is free if you pass the genuine win 7 check.

i too have win 7 x64 and your lucky. for me... every 4-6 successful loads of bf in a row results in exactly 4 un-successful loads with a ctd. i have no idea what the 4 crashes in a row means but happens all the time.

the Pelican case
So i built this Pelican case for my swat soldiers... cause they're great for storing guns & ammo. Then i thought.... hmmm... there's gotta be a better use for this thing than just an ammo box. So im trying to think of some kind of game mode i can create to use this with... like swat team recover...
