I'm sure we all have seen the high-definition mod on here that makes a really good attempt at making Battlefield 1942 run at a 1920×1080 resolution. But there were a lot of "stretching" errors with images and the user interface.
What if we kept the same aspect ratio (4:3) but made the resolution larger? So instead of having 1920×1080 (16:9) we can use 1440×1080 (4:3).
Because 800×600 is the native resolution of the vanilla game, we can just make it run at the same ratio while increasing the resolution to 1440×1080 while overcoming the "stretching" errors.

The problem is that I'm not sure if any of those do 1440x1080. My monitor runs at the native resolution of 1920x1080 and it would be nice if it can run at that resolution but with the original 4:3 aspect ratio in which the game was developed for, hence the 1440x1080 resolution.
