Re: Strasbourg
Hi all! Hope all of you had a Merry Christmas.
I updated the Strasbourg map file. It now includes the following changes:
- Increased view distance from 400 to 1050
- Increased fog end parameter from 500 to 1000
- Moved the Pak40 spawner from north of West_Bridge CP to north of East_Bridge CP
- Locked all the mobile artillery (Priest/Wespe), static artillery (Pak40), light tank (Panzer IV/Sherman) and APC (Hanomag/M3A1) spawners to their respective teams
- Replaced Brits with Americans
- Added a scouts car spawner at the advanced German main base CP spawn
- Added an APC spawner for the Germans north of West_Bridge CP
- Map is fully lightmapped
- Removed all Pak40 spawners for the Allied team
- Changed the global spawn times for the following vehicle categories: 60 seconds for light tanks, 45 seconds for mobile artillery, 60 seconds for static artillery, 30 seconds for scouts cars
- Removed unecessary spawns and moved some spawns closer to spawning vehicles
Client download link: Strasbourg Fix 28/12/2021
To install, simply unzip then overwrite the strasbourg.rfa file you previously installed in your Levels folder (C:\Program Files(x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Archives\bf1942\Levels)
If you have any questions regarding installation, please PM me.

Great "Diamondback", this Map is a Part of FHSW now. We played this map last week. Some players like this Map. Maybe you have some ideas to modified it? Or create any ideas like this? Some like the broken Church model you have created.
The links are down, please reupload it.

Re: Strasbourg
I’m glad the map was played in FHSW, I remember porting it to that mod a while back.buschhans wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 9:20 am Great "Diamondback", this Map is a Part of FHSW now. The cathedral comes from a 3D model I bought online, then ported to BF1942. The COL mesh needs to be fixed so that the correct material ID is mapped to it though.
Also, the map doesn’t have ambient sounds and I’d like to fix some of the vehicle locks after a few clan wars and people complaining that they didn’t like them.

Re: Strasbourg
There is a tool you can use to do so in BC42, it’s also possible to do this manually with the debugger I believe.Crash42modder wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 10:38 amHow did you "fully lightmap" that map?Diamondback wrote: ↑Wed Dec 29, 2021 6:57 pm Hi all! Hope all of you had a Merry Christmas.

Re: Strasbourg
I've configured the Battlecraft files for my Strasbourg map. You can download them here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/iuzao0gw ... s.zip/file
Strasbourg Battlecraft Files
v1.0.0
Configured by Black Mamba
01-09-2024
Overview
This ZIP file contains the necessary files and instructions for Battlecraft to display the custom objects in Strasbourg properly.
The instructions below assume you already have the strasbourg.rfa map archive in your levels folder, located by default at C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Archives\bf1942\levels.
If the map archive is not present at that location, BC will not be able to open it properly.
Contents
The following file structure is found inside the ZIP file:
BC customs/Strasbourg/Objects.rfa
BC customs/Strasbourg/standardMesh.rfa
BC customs/Strasbourg/Texture.rfa
custom.lst
README.txt
Double check if all the files above are present in the ZIP file.
Configuring Battlecraft to display the custom objects
To display the custom objects present in Strasbourg properly, BC needs to have a direct reference to their mesh names in a LST file and know where the relevant archives for these objects are located on your computer.
The steps below allow you to open the map in Battlecraft and display the custom objects it contains properly:
1. Extract the contents of the ZIP file to your Desktop.
2. Copy the folder named "BC customs" to your main Battlefield 1942, located by default at C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942.
3. Navigate to your main Battlecraft folder, located at C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlecraft 1942. Locate the custom.lst file, and make a backup of it by appending the .BACKUP extension to it.
4. Return to the ZIP you extracted to your Desktop, and copy the custom.lst file there to your main Battlecraft folder.
5. In the main Battlecraft folder, open the file named "bc42.cfg" with the text editor of your choice (WordPad or Notepad), and add the following lines
//Strasbourg archives
OpenMODArchive=BC customs\Strasbourg\Objects.rfa
OpenMODArchive=BC customs\Strasbourg\standardMesh.rfa
OpenMODArchive=BC customs\Strasbourg\Texture.rfa
Under these two lines:
OpenMODArchive=Mods\bf1942\Archives\StandardMesh_001.rfa
OpenMODArchive=Mods\bf1942\Archives\texture_001.rfa
6. Repeat step #5 for the file named bf1942.cfg in your main Battlecraft folder.
7. Start Battlecraft, select the bf1942 mod and select the strasbourg map. If everything worked properly, this is what you should see in BC:
Known bugs
You will get two error windows upon opening the map indicating that the soldier skins have not been properly set up in the game files. You can ignore these errors and close the windows.
An error window will also be displayed indicating a mesh named italy_rank1_m1 is missing from the bf1942.lst. Ignore this error and close the window.

Re: Strasbourg
I've modified my Strasbourg Day 2 map. This is the final download link: Strasbourg Day Two
I've also made a third variation of the map with two extra control points located outside the city boundaries. This stretches the combat area to a larger portion of the map. Download link here: Strasbourg Day Three
For a full list of changes in each map you can check the changelog in each ZIP file.
Links in the OP modified.
