Re: BF1942 transmission gear ratios, for those who care
ALL wheels have 37, no exception. At least none that i know of. In vanilla and all the mods (including ours) i checked so far the mat was always 37. Is there a way to find out for myself by looking in the game files? EDIT: From what I can tell, it's a similar problem as with the K98 grenade launche...

Re: BF1942 transmission gear ratios, for those who care
The material for all wheels is 37, including tank road wheels. Tracks don't have any COL mesh at all. The speed and behaviour of the vehicle is managed by the engine type in physics.con ObjectTemplate.setEngineType c_ETCar = wheeled vehicles like cars, trucks etc. ObjectTemplate.setEngineType c_ETT...

Re: BF1942 transmission gear ratios, for those who care
Do the wheel materials include tank tracks? I got one of the materials to work with the Ho-Ha's front wheels, so far. I'll see what I find. EDIT: There was a big enough difference in speed to warrant adjusting something in my personal calculators but the gear ratios, for the most part, are almost id...

Re: BF1942 transmission gear ratios, for those who care
Lots of time in the debug exe, manually locking each gear and measuring the top speed.

BF1942 transmission gear ratios, for those who care
Basically, those are reasonably accurate gear ratios for all of BF1942's available gear limits.
Personally, I find those ratios unsuitable for the kind of driving required by BF1942. Especially for tanks.

Re: Moving Center of Mass for a Vehicle
For those who don't have the luxury of a 3D editor, can you fake it by tuning the suspension?

Considering what the mess looked like only 12 hours ago, I'd say you did a great job!

Re: Play4Free Mod Released
The website says the requirements are low enough for a Pentium 4 to qualify. Any idea on how true this is? That's what I actually have and the game seems interesting.

Question about mods and vehicle transmission stats
Has there ever been any mod that allow the player to adjust transmission gears? Normally, one can select the number of gears and the differential ratio. Has there been a point where the player could, say, change the maximum speed of first gear? For example, the old Tiger tank has 8 forward gears. Ho...
