Moving the FH matilda to bf1942

Post by Vilespring »

I have done a pretty good job moving the Matilda medium tank from forgotten hope to vanilla bf1942. I have some odd issues.
1. the coax MG doesn't make a fire sound, until I stop firing, then it doesn't stop.
2. missing textures (I can fix that)

For the sounds, make sure [1] you have all the sound files, and [2] make sure you copied over the ".ssc" files. That includes the sound scripts for the MG, not just the tank.

don't think that's it. It calls the Coax_Browning, which exists in vanilla bf1942. The FH sound for mg is being used, maybe I replaced the mg sound by accident, because all tanks have the problem.

plus, where, in the textures RFA, are vehicle icons stored, and how do you edit textures?

EDIT: never mind, found icons in menu RFA

Well, I never needed this. I have a fully awesome Matilda MK2 from Forgotten Hope in BF 1942. I kept as much as I could. I am on my way to get all the other tanks I want.

The last idea I have it for you to check the file path for the sound scripts. Go into the Matilda's "Weapons.con" where the FireArm bundle is and look at the file path.

I already fixed it. :D The sound files were done incorrectly. I wanted all the unique FH sounds for cannons, so instead of one by one, I put the while thing, and dropped vanilla sound into it. I messed that up.

BTW, swaffy, I saw in your mod "Press Alt + F4 in game to spawn llamas!" I was about to try it, then my brain engaged. ;)

I'm happy to hear you got the issue sorted out. I actually have a sound problem with my MP-40, but I'll figure it out some time.

And yes, I went a little crazy with the lexiconAll file a while back and changed a lot of the game text. XD

Congrats on getting your first mod hackjob done :) . Way more rewarding than having others do the work for you, right? 8-)

well, I have an odd issue now. I got the King Tiger heavy tank into BF 1942, but the FRONT ARMOR is the weak point! The Sherman can 1 hit KO it through the front, and barley dent it from the back. How do I move a weak point? If this operation requires 3ds max, I need someone to do that.

Hey man. My last post wasn't much help, nor did it sound friendly.

I hope this thread can help you out, it seems like it's about the same issue:
