[ssm]unable to change mag size of airplane bomb

Post by Pigauchiu »

the whole story: I tried to decrease the number of plane bombs from server side. I started from Yak9\Weapons.con, found the line "ObjectTemplate.magSize 15" under "ObjectTemplate.create FireArms Yak9BombDummy", then replaced 15 by 5.

After that I started test from kursk, with the modded objects.rfa of course. Everything was fine until I approached yak9 by flying a bf109. Once yak9 was within the view distance, ie the white plane icon nearly showed up in the map, the client side bf1942.exe closed without any error message. (4Apr update: latest test resulted a "disconnected from server" message.)

Finally the more weird matter: when I replaced the modded objects.rfa in my client side folder and create a local game, no more sudden quit again. Anyone knows the solution, or any other method to achieve my objective?

I don't think mag size can be changed server side. Been awhile since I did any server modding, but I recall that being one of the limitations.

another question first: thx god that my post finally appeared after a few days approval, but i needed to wait another few days for approval again after making a minor change. And it seems that i'm the only one who encountered this. Why is it and is it necessary?

back to topic: then is it possbile to limit the flying time of airplanes, like the Natter in the Secret Weapons expansion pack, but able to refill the "fuel" when flying low on the airport?

Or any other ideas that can decrease the influences of airplanes? (my final objective.) they are too effective when in the right hand.
