Adding a sixth class?

Hello,
i wanted to know if its possible to add more classes to the game.

I know DC has 6 classes, but i dont know how its done.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

It is possible, but it is not easy. One more class is okay, getting more in is a bit tricky and requires editing of the menu files. Apache Thunder worked on this once, there should be a thread explaining it around here. Just a matter of searching.

That's awesome. I'm gonna try that out. But does the 32-seat vehicle actually work?
Has anyone actually tried that?

I think he meant extra kit slots on the spawn menu. Either way, that also requires meme file editing. :P

As for more seats on vehicles. My attempts at doing that resulted in game CTDs when trying to switch to the extra positions. So probably can't add more selectable PCO positions. :(

Yes thats what i meant. I wanted to add a sixth spawn kit to the spawn menu.

I tried using the Menu Editor. The farthest i got was making a duplicate Engineer Spawn button that works just like the normal one. well, not really. when the mouse is over any of them, both buttons lit up, so its just 1 big button.
I tried changing some variables from 4 to 5, changing the selected kit, but the game crashes. :P

i couldn't find much on the web. The most i could find was this (http://planetbattlefield.gamespy.com/Vi ... tail&id=53) and it doesn't look like anything i've seen in the menu editor so it wasn't of much help

Sometimes I wish Trauma Studios was still around to be with us and mod 1942. Or at least the guys [and girls, if there were any] that worked for that company. They'd be able to tell us.

You can also try to contact the makers/modders who helped or are helping with the Interstate '82 mod. That mod only has 3 weapon kits in the spawn menu, so I am sure you can use the same technique to add a new class or two.
