{SOLVED}SOS thread

Hey guys I'm fairly new (active) here, and I ran into a bit of a headache. And as a BattleField lover, a heartache. The only bf mod I have made maps for is interstate82. Over at fook's palace, is82.com. Until now. I made a map for regular ol' bf42. I was in the final stages of this map. Which was mostly standard, stock battlecraft stuff. Below is what I posted on the is82.com site... If there is anything that isn't clear please, let me know:)


So I have been working on this new map for the ATF clan server(a BF42 map) and I had a little custom work done to it. With the help Sniperjack, Redline, and Reegad. FYI: they all did a great job with the help!

Custom things added:(and tested to be fine),......skybox, stratos, naked lady, and carwasher.

**edit**I attempted to add a flettner style chopper (from the secret weapons mod) to this map by taking it straight from the Raid on Angelia map(one of the last things I did). When I did my last test of this map,everything loaded normal except that the flettner did not show up.**

I played it last night and all was working fine, I sent it to another buddy to help add those flettner choppers and he replied back that the map wouldn't load and crashed when attempted. It was the same copy I had already tested so I went to load it and now I get the same crash as he!

So, it was recommended to me that I install the bf1942 debugger. I did just that, and the following error appeared:

stratosRearSpringRight addBundleChilds() templets not found:e_wdustWheelred

My next move was to get the map that the stratos came from, and my level, in the same folder extracted, so I could take a look and compare and contrast between the two. Well, after looking through the two I didn't see anything askew. I looked in the stratos objects physics file......

I feel like a new born babe on a church's front step at the moment.

Any fix suggestions?

I did the ol' system restore and I got BF back:)

I have a clean back up of the map also!!

Would be nice to know what caused the drama.

Alas, all is not lost at least.

Drop a comment if u want but this case is pretty much closed...

Can I have a download [link] please? I'd like to do two things:
- look at the map to see the work you guys put into it;
- see how I can fix your problem.

for the record.. the stratos is a lancia stratos car from is82 mod... for those thinking wtf is a stratos :)

If there is a way to salvage it that would be awesome. The backed up copy I have is missing some things like the lancia stratos, and a little last minute landscape work. I was pushing to release this about 2 weeks ago so I am behind schedule:( Luckily, I'm not getting graded on this!

Okay, I'll take a look.

[Edit]
- One of your "run.con" files had some wrong pathways (instead of "run Flettener/run" it said "run Flettener").
- In Objects/Stratos/Objects.con you are missing a template called carammo.
- In Objects/Carwash/Objects.con you are missing a template called CarRepairPoint5.
- Something about an MG34 Supply Depot.

ummmm...

Thanks for scopin it out!

The flettners weren't the cause for the map to crash though. It has something to do with the stratos.

The Stratos works now, as I see it. I loaded the map, and the only issue I have left is the MG34 Supply Depot.

I removed "carammo" and "CarRepairPoint5" because they weren't created anywhere anyway.
You can un"rem" them once you add the Create coding. The came was calling for them even though they do not exist.

You're also going to have to make a Create for the MG34 Supp. Dep. because that also hasn't been created yet.

Other than those 3 things, your map should be just fine!

As far as the carwasher I don't even need it....not sure about the supply depot. If neither are in there then it should be good the way it is.

Can you please send me the working copy? That would be swell!!
