So lets say I want to make a map where you can only play it on my server.. Attempting to run it locally would just fail without the server files..

How can one do this... does a client map need conquest folder for instance? (assuming its connecting to a server with it..)

just want general thoughts on this .. its for a puzzle style map.. which is why the more i can control from the server.. the more fun it will be to figure it out.. rather than just cheating or taking a look at the map files..

on a similar but side note.. Dice were considering making the Single player campaign of Bad Company use serverside ai.. as a piracy prevention thought. would be too impractical but effective.. :D

well i know you can take out the spawners from ObjectSpawns.con in the clientfile, or just put them in random places. a server overrides all this when you join.

Ohh, idea!

Make a box, one that players can stand in and move around in, and large enough to hold about 20 players.

Just put all of the spawn points in that box.

Then make a sign that says "Play this map on Conquest only!" and put it inside the box.

The box will be very high up in the sky, or somewhere people will not be able to go. Such as putting the box way out of bounds, and just have a little square that the box is in and players are allowed to walk.
