Battlecraft 1942 - Help Required

Greetings everyone.

Recently I have been trying to create a map for Battlefield. I can add in the terrain and objects fine, but I am confused when it comes to Surface Maps and the Material Map creator. I know that there are three different surface maps available, as default; Default, Snowy, Desert. When I create a map, and add these in and generate the surface maps it creates a very bad texture. Desert is very grassy and snowy is very rocky... Even the default does not have much mud and grass, it has rocks sticking out of it!

So, can someone explain to me how I get a particular material map (Dry Sand for example), to cover the entire map without having the terrible desert surface map.

In addition to this, I would also like to know if someone could aid me in getting my Battlecraft set up to create Desert Combat (0.7), Desert Combat Extended (0.9) and Forgotten Hope.

If anyone can help with either topic, please reply here! :)

Yours,
Smurf

PS, If you see me online, I go by the names "God of War" and "James118".

Hey.

I have managed to get around the problem with the textures but now I have the problem with making maps for Desert Combat and Desert Combat Extended. Anyone know how to add DC as a mod to Battlecraft?

Maybe all you have to do is add DC meshes, objects, textures, etc. That is how it works in ED42. I don't know, since battlecraft dies on my laptop. (Battlecraft needs Open GL, which I don't have.)

LOL. I don't have those either.. It dies occasionally but I still make basic maps. ED42 won't load the meshes and stuff when I use it. I have put the directories etc in the right place but no joy :(.

I will try doing the same with BC1942. You have to use the Winrar extractor in the Mod Pack don't you?

Anyone know where I choose as the root-directory-installment-something-or-other for Battlecraft when you choose to make/use a mod?
