Hey guys i literally just downloaded BF 1942 today, and am looking for the basic info on mods for it.
Can i get multiple mods at once?
Can i still play the normal version once using a mod?
Which are the "main" mods to get?
Will single player and multiplayer both work with mods?
And finally could i get a link to the tutorial on how to add a mod to the game?
Really appreciate it, thanks!

Re: Completely New - Basic Info?
I haven't been here too long, and I see why the older modders get...
any ways...
A1- yes, many mods can be installed at one, I have 22.
A2- yes, Vanilla (unmodded) still works
A3- Desert Combat, Forgotten Hope, Battle Group 42, Eve of Destruction, Battle Field 1918, Interstate 82, TWITWMTB, Swaffy's Mod (
), wasteland 2042.
A4- some mods do, like *some* Forgotten Hope maps, and none of the Forgotten Hope Secret Weapons. (although, some work. like as in 2)
A-5 also, get the Mod Development Toolkit. (MDT)
gonna need it.

Wait, is my mod really good enough to be on a list such as that?
*surprisedFace*
danielaq12, think of the original game as a mod too. But it's different because the other mods use this "mod" as a base. In other words, Battlefield 1942's main files are in a folder named "bf1942" in the "Mods" folder. Every custom (not the base game) mod loads this "mod" before loading its own customized files. Even complete conversions such as Desert Combat, which is set in more recent years.

Re: Completely New - Basic Info?
All i need to do is just download the mod from this site, and then put it into the mods folder right?
I tried using Desura because i thought it was easier, and it installed desert combat for me. But when i loaded it and tried a game, everything was just like my normal 1942.
Also whats up with punkbuster? Do i need it? And how do i get it

With the Desert Combat not working, did you get Desert Combat AND DC Final? That happened to me.
Punk Buster is so when you play online the server knows you're not cheating. I think you install punk buster in the 1.61 patch, but I'm not sure. You don't need it, I don't have it.

Re: Completely New - Basic Info?
Oh and about the game itself...
Is it just me or is your own team's AI incapable of doing anything? Even when i put it on the easiest setting, they cant take any of the control points themselves, meaning usually i have to be the one that takes the control points. Its extremely annoying because as soon as i step out of the area, the other team recaptures it and we start losing points quickly (that flashing red shit on the scoreboard happens)
Its actually extremely annoying how there's no team deathmatch singleplayer mode..
