not descriptive enough for me to see what you are tying to say. I'm very simple-minded

No way dude, I barely have time to work on the Infection zombie mod. Or my own. XD

literally a side scroller style game view.. something like this in its basic, fixed plane, jump around on stuff form: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KR15nkjyC6E

Should be possible just by fiddling the camera angle on the 3rd person view for soldiers. As for traps and stuff, animated meshes that interact with the player, or "PCO traps", something of the sort...

Hmm, I think I can...
BECAUSE I HAVE NO LIFE!
does it have to be a person, or for simplicity, can it be a tank?

This is the bomb! Wow! Cool idea!
But, I am afraid that there will be problems - if the blast wave will turn the hero in the wrong direction?.. or no? -The blast wave acts on the hero_position and not on the hero_rotation?

Yes it needs to be a person.

Ignore any gameplay for now.. Just using the default player... And a simple box/platform environment. Make him run/turn in both directions..

I'm assuming this needs some animation tweaks. So the default strafing animation would instead look like he's running sideways ?

DARN!
I have no idea how to successfully modify infantry code, I can only mess it up!
I can still make a tank work, if that is fine, or I'm out. I only know how to modify projectiles, weapons, and PCOs. :(
EDIT: My noddle is making ideas how to make the tank work too! I'm making it for giggles with a tank.
