HTroop Dedicated Server Is Up, But Requires Assistance

Hello Again,
Well, A friend of mine, hooked me up with an HTroop Forum, at: htroop.hootsclan.com. He also set me up with a Linux Dedicated Server for HTroop. However, he has never run a Bf1942 Dedicated Linux Server; nor have I. The server runs without crashing, but no one is able to connect to the server (Error Message that appears after the connection bar has fully, & quickly loaded: Failed to Connect to Server). The server information, such as Active Mods, Game Type, etc. are wrong, but he nor I can figure out how to change these. The RCON excepts commands, but whether using /rcon commands, or using bf1942's game. or admin. commands, I constantly get the errors: "Wrong Syntax" or "Wrong Format" or "Unauthorized Method".

What commands will change the server settings on the server? Does anyone know?

I have already edited my serversettings.con file, and placed it in the Mods/HTroop/Settings folder on the server. Should I place it in the Mods/bf1942/Settings folder? Just to make sure, on a Linux Server, what should the path be for the Battlefield Dedicated Server?

Here is said serversettings.con file in text format (this is the way is copied):

game.serverName "HTroop v1.0b5 Public Server"

place it in Mods/bf1942/Settings folder change the "game.gameSpyPort 23000-23009" to just game.gameSpyPort 23000

i think your best option is to use the bfsm program, it makes it much easier to change server settings

i have this line about mods in my serversettings file, game.serverUnpureMods "area51, bfheroes, g_pack, pirates" you could try add your mod with that command

freddy,
Thank you for trying to help, but that only prevents hacking or points out hackers.

Thanks,

if you mean game.serverUnpureMods, only the mods from dice is considered pure. the unpure setting is to allow third part mods as i doesnt have the same strict file check like for example the objects.con file, it just looks for checksums in maps.

im not sure if it really needs to be there, it might be needed for the server to know that there is added mods.
