The HTroop v1.0b5 Dedicated Server is now up and running. Once you download HTroop v1.0b5 on htroop.hootsclan.com, and install it, as well as the other mods required to run HTroop, contact me, and I will give you the IP Address to connect to the server.

Is the server running on a home server or is it a paid host? In either cases, you can make your server visible in the server list by editing your hosts file. Talk to s[sk] from the -=aX=- forums for more information about this.

Here are the server stats:

Dell Poweredge 2950
dual quad xeo 1.8
16g mem
300g hds - Raid 1
redundant power supplies

As for being visible in the server list, I think I have set the correct settings for it, however I am not completely sure. You're talking about the serversettings.con file, correct?

However, HTroop v1.0b5 is not a server side mod, so even if I am able to have it show up in the server list, players will still be required to download and install HTroop v1.0b5, as well as all the other mods required to run HTroop.

Go to your hosts file located in C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc , fire her up in your Notepad++ er whatnot

Pop this line in: 109.71.69.254 master.gamespy.com

No guarantee as I just host from ingame no dedicated , cheers

So, will placing that ip address in my host's file, make the HTroop Dedicated server show up on the master bf1942 server list, or simply on the ax server list?

Should I replace the ip address you listed with my server's ip address?

It's the only BF1942 masterserver so yup you'd be fetching all the new servers
