Sure it is. Just grab Visual Studio and some other regular programmin tools and start progamming your own engine. Voila, you got a mod independent from BF42...

yeah.. not sure if your question is what you intend it to be dude.. you are basically asking if its possible to make a new game.. but still use some low poly assets and textures from bf1942! which of course will always be a 'yes'
do you mean make a mod where nothing is called from the original bf42 'mod' folder??

i mean as an example it just has a map with 2 custom objects so i was thinking that if just with the necesary files like soldiers the meshes etc etc u could make a standalone game with out needing bf vanilla stuff just using the exe obviusly but u think is possible?

So is this about the "engine" (your first post) or about "BF Vanilla" (your last post)? Either way - why? What would you want to accomplish?

prolly im not explaining well but is difficult to do
ok
What i want to do is a game that is based on bf1942 u can see in any mod main init con that theres something like this:

Code: Select all

game.SetCustomGameName Project_Alone
game.addmodPath Mods/Project_Alone/
game.addModPath Mods/Bf1942/
game.customGameFlushArchives 0
what i want to do by now is to remove the :
game.addModPath Mods/Bf1942/
and the mod still working wich means i have to import things that normally u dont need in a mod to this one, then try to make it a game that doesnt depends on bf1942 to be played

If EA wouldn't care about it, they would have released BF42 for free by now. They haven't. With good reason, as BF42 still generates income. As it still is not free to distribute and the copy protection still is active and valid, using a no CD crack is illegal, as circumventing a cd copy protection is declared illegal by law in most Western countries (USA, GB, Germany, Austria, etc., to name just a few).
