CTF

I have been modding to make Iwo Jima into capture the flag on battlecraft.
Due to Iwo not normally being cft, there are no Iwo Jima ctf controlpoints.con to edit.

What do files do I use in my patch file for this so that I can edit it and put my mods in?

This cannot be done ServerSide i dont think, have not tried but im pretty sure you would have to do this clientside, i might be wrong thou

That is Client Side only, by my knowledge. Just use BC42 and you should be fine. I've done that before.

It is serverside, I've played on other server as Iwo Jima ctf.

Maybe I didn't work my question correctly.

I want to know what my patch for the mod should consist of.

For example if I modded a control point on Iwo Jima for Conquest I would need bf1942/levels/Iwo Jima/Conquest/ControlPonits.con.

I modded control ponits on Iwo Jima for CTF but there is no bf1942/levels/Iwo Jima/Ctf/ControlPoints.con to put in my patch file for it.

You can play ctf there for quite a few maps that you normally can't.

Invasion of the philippines
Iwo Jima
Market Garden
Midway
Omaha Beach
Tobruk

i saw they are running v 1.6 can that have anything to do with it?

Well I'm not really sure but if it helps my server is 1.6 too.

No, it has nothing to do with the version of the game. It's been on MAFIA since, at least, 2007. In fact, I think there used to be a tut on it somewhere...

The tutorial is rather confusing.

Here are the changes you need to make to the original map:

1) Add a ctf.con to the root folder. It should contain the two flag locations (assuming beach for allies, and the top of the hill for axis?). Copy the rest of the ctf.con code from another map.

2) Copy that very same ctf.con file and put it in the GameTypes folder.

Thats it for the original map.

Make a patch file now for your map. Omaha_Beach_555.rfa or whatever. The only two files you need in it are ObjectSpawnTemplates.con and ObjectSpawns.con. You can copy them from Conquest. You need to make a folder named CTF in your patch file folder.

1) Put those 2 files in: bf1942\levels\mapname\ctf

After that...rip the spawners from a vehicle. Say a carrier or battleship.

This is the part I'm confused on...: If we can make a CTF mode when there was none, how come we can't make soldier spawns? Or how do people have regular control points in the map (like vermillion said is on a running server)?

well i havent tried since i dont have v 1.6 but can you join and play on that server without downloading a patch first?
