I don't recall ever using GameSpy, so maybe it won't be that bad for me. I always used the in-game server browser for BF1942.

BF1942 relies on Gamespy to list servers in the server browser of all client games. BF1942 being one of them. Sorry dude, but it will be bad for you.

Unless someone finds away to create a custom server system to replace gamespy. But don't count on it.

if you like to add your server to the toolbox join function,
just say a word.

easy going with Toolbox. click on liveviewer, choose the server and click the join button.

Why so much fret ?

Just use shortcuts to join servers ? And of course Jeronimo's vbscript that allows clickable links in browser to jump straight into the mod/server

Launching the game from the browser (via a website) is a better idea. I don't want to download a program to get me into a different program.

I say we find someone with some programming skills and write up a Firefox/Chrome plugin that does this. Most folks don't have much issue using browser plugins. I wouldn't want to install a full blown program, but something like a plugin that can work seamlessly in the background and only activates when needed would be the best solution.
