Does anyone know where this excavator came from?

Most likely a cut and paste job by the dev team of the editor to add to the aesthetics of the game editor installer and the editor. I doubt that ever existed as a vehicle in BF1942. :P

Maybe it was made for a special "Battlecraft 1942" side mod, and then the object was deleted upon the release of the program.

I think Apache said it best in that it just represents a "construction theme" being it is a map editor that one "constructs" their map with. Actually a silly thread but it gives me a chance to mention that there was a mapping team, forget their or his name? I think it was DCMAPS or something of that nature, but anyhow they had created a model of a big TEREX dump truck, you know big yellow suckers used in mines. Anyhow I still have that stuff somewhere if anyone might be interested. There were some UN vehicles too, but the models are not the best in the world, though I suppose someone could clean them up and fix the textures. In fact the map might have been DC Quarry if I am not mistaken, like I said I will look it up if interested.

You have DC Quarry? I've been looking for that map for a few years and could never find it. I remember downloading a bunch of DC related mods just to see if they had that DC Quarry map with the huge dump truck in it. I played it a long time ago, and lost the mod it was in somehow (back when I didn't know anything about computers).

I'd be excited to get that map once again.

Sure no problem Swaffy, It was a kewl map wasn't it (in a weird way)? With a little work someone could do some interesting things with that truck. Your sudden interest prompted me to look and sure enough I found it along with three others by "DCM". I have along with DCM_Quarry, DCM_Operation Razor, DCM_Operation Sid II, and DCM_Twin_Rivers. If interested in the others I will upload them for down load.

In the meantime, you can download DCM_Quarry here.

I have gigs and gigs of this stuff all the way back, along with many of the first versions of popular mods too.

That looks like the one from Quarry with a new and better skin. GoodDay, did you look at the DC Quarry map? Or do you not have DC installed? If not I will try to get a screen. I have some real old copies of I82 if your interested btw, some of the very first versions.

Or both? You can send them if you want....I am interested in anything Interstate:) I am currently working on Deathrace 4....Love me some is82!!

Good chance it is. I think the Wastelands used it re-skinned also.

I plan to put all the mods and versions I have up on my site as time permits, I will send you a link once up.
