Controlling two PCOs?

Post by exe »

Hi,

a quick question: Is it possible to control two PCOs at the same time? Like you enter a PanzerIV, drive it around but there's also another "dummy" PanzerIV somewhere on the map which also reacts to your input. I doubt this is possible and I already tried a couple of things but maybe one of you has an idea.

Wow, I was just wondering this yesterday.

It would be cool to fly three airplanes around in a triangle formation, such as a squad of SBDs or Aichi-Vals. One player controls the flying and there can be separate seats for the separate turrets. If this is possible, that would be a really cool thing to have!

I can see the flock of B17s working. It would just act kinda odd. The planes would be attached to each other, so when when on hits something, the whole formation would stop.

As with the idea of multiple vehicles being driven, I don't know. You can be "in" 2, but only one is being driven. In my mod, there is a sherman tank without a turret, and when you use the primary "weapon," a RC sherman appears, which is controlled by you, but your in the other tank at the same time, you just can't move. The RC tank has no entrys, so the only was to get in it is to spawn it via mobile controller, and there is no secondary mg on top. The RC tank gives an advantage because it'll buff your stats, gobs of points and kills and no deaths. The coolest thing about it is, if the controller (you) is killed, you loose control of the RC tank. The tank will not self destruct, because it has no time-out attachment, and also you can't get in it. So it just kinda sits there till it gets blown up.

Yes you can make a bomber formation but you usually at least disable the ability to roll because they all move/steer and roll around the axes of the main aircraft which looks very stupid and unrealistic.

The Wasserfall code was also one of my first ideas but you always lose control of the "starter" when you fire the rocket.

I was thinking this: Bring three models of my SBD into 3DS Max and basically put holding bars between the three aircraft to "hold" them together. That way, they are supposed to look like they are stuck together. Then edit the flaps, stabs, etc. to make it appear as they are flying as one plane. But the three bodies would have their turrets and bomb loads still.

Totally making this my next project.

I haven't played Battlefield 1943, but supposedly there is the same sorta feature.. ^.^

You going to release the mod, or have you done it already? I would be interested in testing/playing it :D especially online.

Also, in FH, try Tobruk. In the axis base, there is a rack full of weapon kits. One is an Italian-German officer who calls in Stukas using binos. You can control them, but are limited to yawing!

Thanks, looks interesting but I don't think he actually controls two or more seperate PCOs in this video. My guess is he replaced all the airplane controls with RotationalBundles (activated by c_PIYaw, c_PIPitch etc.) to make it look like he controls 3 planes. A very good work-around but not what I'm looking for sadly.
