heh thanks, Im too scared of committing to a mod team atm but if if this turns out well as a map I will be offering it up to them!
and Coroner.. yes it does everything you asked.. Its not part of the mesh as such.. well.. its a seperate bit of texture coordinated in the mesh file to deal with lighting..
I did a bit of a tut the other day which I will post up. it needs a little editing.
heres an example of an earlier version of the model with lightmaps on and off. (i just hit escape and went into video options to turn off.. nothing is baked onto the textures as such)
big difference..
