Little questions about modding.
Little questions about modding.
I've started this thread so we don't have thousands of threads with just a single question.
Do you know a good guide to get Editor 42 installed + get your own mod/map side mods with custom models working?

Hey I've tried it and its working good so far. But only for vanilla maps.
I've created a new dcdev folder and extracted all DC files just like I did for vanilla.
When I load the map "DC Urban Siege" 90% of the objects are missing...
Not only the DC objects.

Re: Little questions about modding.
make sure you putt the stndardmesh folder in ther, they may be missing because I believe dc usues a slightly different path for buildings, thers actually a folder, its called buildings, were as in vanilla the buildings are directly in the folder, maybe try moving everything so it is identical to a vanilla SM
Re: Little questions about modding.
I moved all meshes to the standardmesh folder....
Now the 10% of the visible models have a texture. Little improvement
But thanks, somewhere there is the key.

Re: Little questions about modding.
ok well, the problem is all of the folders in dc have different pathing than vanilla so object,SM,TEXTURE,ect ect
make them all identical to the ones in vanilla and it will fix your problem,if that don't fix it then im stumped

Re: Little questions about modding.
I moved the TEXTURES. OBJECTS are looking good (same as vanilla).
But still the same.

^ Yeah...sometimes a trailing slash "\" can do it too...on certain paths in ed42.
Re: Little questions about modding.
Thanks now I can see ~ 90%
(All models except the custom map models.) I tried to copy all files into the right folders... nothing.
