Weapon models and material IDs
Re: P38 Lightning will not take damage.
Thanks. I got it. on way to work now. try the files when I'm home again.

Re: P38 Lightning will not take damage.
Tried them now, and they didn't work. But then I saw the date on the files, and checked the file size. And its the same as in my old files. So I think you uploaded the unaltered files I gave you:).Swaffy wrote:Okay. Download it quickly, I don't know how long it keeps files before deleting them. I used the same website you used, since you're probably used to using it.

Re: P38 Lightning will not take damage.
I'll check it when I get home.
I must've exported the files to the wrong location. I think I got the names of two different StandardMeshes mixed up.
[Edit:] Okay, try this:

Re: P38 Lightning will not take damage.
thanks very much, that file worked much better:)
However, it seems they also have some weird collision mesh on the landing gear. And because I have the plane spawning in a hangar, it takes over 50% damage directly when it spawns. And when I carefully drive it out I hear squeeky sounds and It takes damage.
I don't really know how this work exactly, but I think it must be the landing gear.
So if you coul'd fix that to I will name the plane after you Swaffy;).

Re: P38 Lightning will not take damage.
Check the other files. The fuselage that I gave you is the only StandardMesh that should have a collision mesh.
Everything else shouldn't have a collision mesh, only visual parts and shadows [if shadows are being used]. I think the wheels need collision meshes in order to roll on the ground.
You should first check the object spawn. Make sure it is sitting a little above the surface so that it doesn't spawn partially in the ground.

Re: P38 Lightning will not take damage.
Ok I have tried to raise the plane a bit over the floor in the hangar. And it takes damage when I'm driving it out of there. Propably something with the wheels material that don't agree with a static object. On ground the wheels work properly.

Re: P38 Lightning will not take damage.
I don't know how to help you on that one.
Can you take a few snapshots of the aircraft or [preferrably] make a video of it having problems? It's harder for me to analyze an issue if it's only being explained through text. Seeing "in action" it might strike an idea...

Re: P38 Lightning will not take damage.
Now I checked "Typh_FWhl.sm" and "Typh_TWhl.sm", and they have a collisionmesh. It's a small triangle against the ground.
Read in this forum that the material number for wheels should be 37. But as I use Gmax I can't see the acctual material id or change it.
A demonstration video of the problem is coming later this evening.

Re: P38 Lightning will not take damage.
Here is a little video showing the problem. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2l0W7-Uk8gg
Notice the smoke puffs from the left wheel. And then when driving over the treshold, it takes damage.
You better watch it in 720p and fullscreen I think, to see the health bar . If I drive out the hangar faster it takes a lot more of damage.

Re: P38 Lightning will not take damage.
Okay, I see what you mean. The angled ramp on the end of the hangar is damaging the Typhoon due to the curvature of the surface the Typhoon is rolling on.
Here's some ideas that sprung up:
[x] - Lower the collision mesh of the wheels; [or]
[x] - Lower the wheels [or springs, whatever] on the vehicle so that the Typh sits a little higher; [or]
[?] - Let me check the damage IDs of the wheels.

I looked at the wheels. I think the issue is that ... the wheels didn't even have an ID. It was blank. So ... here's your wheels with their CollisionMesh IDs set to 37:
