placing an object means that the vehicle won't self-destruct, but it will also won't respawn. A spawner is what is usually seen floating around the game. Like with the battle of Britain, the radar towers and factory do not respawn, since they are placed in the map without a spawner (I think)

A spawner's job is to respawn the vehicle when it's destroyed and also destroy the vehicle if it is unoccupied for a certain amount of time.

Because spawning it as an Object (like placing a static object) there is no spawner to destroy it or respawn it. This is good if you want a vehicle to be a map objective.

Ah, cool. Any help on why I can't see vehicles when I place them using a spawner (in the map editor, not the actual game :P)?

I noticed that when I place the spawner. save, restart ED and the vehicles show. I don't know why, but they do that.

Yes, I've experienced the same bug. You can put a vehicle in both Team 1 and Team 2 slots of the spawner template and it might still show a box. Or perhaps I put just one vehicle in the spawner and left the other team's vehicle blank, sometimes it showed a box. Like Vile said, try restaring it (reloading the map).

Sometimes it is also an issue if the StandardMesh or Texture files are in folders. If they were located in the main directory like the vanilla BF1942's files are, perhaps they will show the mesh instead of a box. I am not completely sure of this, but you should experiment with the idea.

Hey,

Saving and Reloading does help, but I've noticed another problem. Team one is the axis, correct? With team two as the allies? Well, when I place a spawner at an Allied Outpost, it ALWAYS shows the Axis vehicle on the spawner instead of the allied one. I have played around with it, changing who owns the flag at an outpost and changing which vehicle is on which team, but there is still no difference... Any clues? It would be kinda handy if I could view the correct vehicles as I am making a FH map and I am trying to distinguish some vehicles.

Another quick question...

I have constructed the majority of my map, I just need to add some (well, many) sand dunes to my map (it is a desert map). Now, I want to test the map, but I have a problem: I have no idea how to configure it so that Forgotten Hope will recognise it as a FH map. I think there is some init.con file I need to change or a menu file, but I am not sure, so any help will be appreciated!

And perhaps change the serverInfo image to the FH image. It should be in the same folder that fo0k mentioned. If you change the serverInfo image, make sure it has the same name. Just change the picture so it shows the FH symbol.

bf1942/levels/MAP_NAME/Menu/("init.con" or "serverInfo.dds")
